Lindsay Head
Lindsay Hudson Head - triple Magarey Medallist and the greatest player to come out of the West Torrens Football Club (except perhaps Henry Dabrowski).
Head was a sublimely skilled player on both sides of the body - I reckon here he is executing the long forgotten place kick - who racked up many possessions per match. There's a great photo of him covered in mud in the Eagles Club; unusual in that his participation in packs was such that he finished most games looking as in the photo at left.
Still, the stats don't lie. In addition to the three Magareys (1955,1958,1963), he also won eight best and fairest awards for the Eagles (55-56,58-59,62-63,66-67). He was named All-Australian in 1956, topped the goalkicking in 1954 and was a member of the 1953 premiership side. Head was captain of the Eagles from 1959 to 1962, but was less than successful in a couple of stints as senior coach.
Less well known is Head's record as a first class cricketer. Yes, he is one of the select band of players, along with Barrie Robran and Craig Bradley, to represent South Australia at football and cricket. In nine first class matches, he racked up 425 runs at an average of 28.33, with four 50's. His occasional leg breaks netted him two wickets at 72 apiece.

Re: Lindsay Head
We were all too young to have seen him, unfortunately.
Where is he these days, I haven't heard of him for years.
