Melbourne Storm smash the Eels 23 : 16
For a Grand Final it turned out to be a pretty one sided contest!
NSW and QLD are huge Rugby States, so I do wonder how it goes down that the capital of Australian Rules Football has helped themselves twice now to the NRL cup! Maybe its just as well that they got rid of the Adelaide Rams or it might be several more times that the cup crossed over the border!
Anyway well done to the Storm, I did tip them yet thought it would be a much closer match as Parramatta have dominated over other sides several times this season and have looked really good in the way that they go about their game, yet clearly it counts for nothing if you cannot repeat it in the finals!

I dont know what game you were watching Ben W. but living in the eastern states and watching every week I thought it was a great game. Melbourne held Parra to zero in the 1st half. They have done that in their last 5 games against quality opposition. Parra made a great comeback and had momentum right up to the 72m mark. Billy Slater knocked on 11 metres from his tryline. HAD Parra scored in the next set of six it would have been a draw with about 5 minutes to play but the Melbourne defence held up well. Another turning point was a stupid penalty to Slater against Moimoi which created good field position for the unlikely attempt of a field goal by Greg Inglis. As good a player as Greg Inglis is he isn't a specialised goal kicker. It's equivelant as a Gridiron line blocker becoming a kicker. Doesn't happen that much. Parra also never beat the Storm all year.
