Beer War
There is a sponsorship war brewing !! Can only be good for our clubs . I reckon open it up and let bothh sponsor in some way . From Adelaide Now ;
TWO of the state's largest beer makers are preparing for a turf war over football club sponsorships in the SANFL.
Coopers Brewery and Lion Nathan are both speaking with SANFL clubs about sponsorship beyond this year's season, with some clubs expressing concern over the current arrangements.
The SANFL is sponsored by Lion Nathan-owned West End Brewery. However the current six-year agreement expires at the end of this season. Eight clubs are part of the Lion Nathan deal with the only exemption being Norwood, which has a long-standing agreement with South Australian brewery Coopers.
Several of the clubs have expressed concern that the current deal prohibits the serving of rival breweries' brands and are keen to see a less restrictive arrangement in place.
This week Coopers Brewery chairman Glenn Cooper confirmed the company was interested in talking to unhappy SANFL clubs about sponsorship.
"I am very interested in getting into South Australian football clubs. Coopers is a great South Australian company and we would like to be able to support the SANFL football league clubs," he said.
"I am not going to go out there and undermine Lion Nathan's sponsorship but if clubs want to talk to us we are happy to."
Glenelg Football Club president Gary Metcalf confirmed to The Advertiser that the club was in talks with Coopers.
Mr Cooper said that unlike Lion Nathan, it would not make any club sponsorship deal contingent on exclusivity. Lion Nathan SA regional director Damien Mori said he was confident SANFL clubs would stick with West End, who had been associated with the league for more than 55 years.
SANFL state league general manager Darren Chandler said the clubs were not obliged to be a part of the deal, but got a "significant" sponsorship grant from doing so.
The Sturt Football Club said it was not seeking another sponsor and was happy with Lion Nathan.

Re: Beer War
CHOICE IS ALWAYS GOOD THING.
PERSONALLY, I'D BE HAPPY IF I COULD GET A GOOD PALE ALE AT CDFC.
USED TO GUZZLE WEST END AT THE FOOTY LIKE CRAZY (OFTEN ENDED UP THAT WAY TOO) BUT SINCE COMING OVER HERE AND 'DISCOVERING' COOPERS, W.E. DRAUGHT IS POND WATER.
P.S.: W.A. COULDN'T BREW A DECENT BEER EVEN WITH DETAILED INSTRUCTIONS.

Re: Beer War
if you pub, club or bar sells one brewery's beer it is illegal to sell a beer from a competator unless you get the exemption in your license, which youll find most night clubs have but not many other places
