Wigan Athletic vs Blackpool
Wigan faces an interesting hurdle to open the season as they welcome newly-promoted Blackpool. The Lancashire club should be full of optimism after climbing 4 divisions in 9 years and making a handful of new signings on the eve of the season including former West Ham front man, Marlon Harewood. For Wigan, despite pulling off a couple of impressive upsets late last season it remains a team that can’t capitalise in the final third. In front of their home fans I expect Wigan to disappoint in the upset of the round.
