Someone posted this link on the Magpies Forum
This photo was taken today at Alberton and with the rain still coming down hard I would hate to see what it looks like tomorrow.

Happy to get out of that weather in the end. They were lucky to have the oval ready after it was pumped until 10pm the night before. Sponsors signs went flying across the oval at half time and Officials had to remove others to stop it happening again. A gum tree in the port club car park had a branch break off and land on three cars.

Wow this is eerie, but at Elizabeth yesterday we had a similar experience.
The Players Race was closed until just before Reserves start time as it had flooded and they had called for a Plumber to come out to pump the water away..... then during half-time break of League we heard an all mighty crash at the back of the changerooms, so our Head Trainer looked out the window to see a huge branch had fallen down and landed onto 2 pretty stylish and expensive CDFC Sponsors cars. (We knew they were sponsors due to their Car Park Reserved Sign)
CDFC PA Announcer obviously has a weird sense of humour, because as we went back onto oval for the start of 2nd half he broadcast a request for anyone who had cars parked at the back of the changerooms to go and check their cars as a branch had fallen down, and then proceeded to play Monty Python's "Always Look on the Bright Side of Life" over the PA system

Nice. The sign that flew across just missed a kid as it went over the fence on the outer side near the family area.
The opposition box at Alberton was elbow deap in water the day before. I was told 10 at night was the time they finished pumping.
Although I did not want to leave being the fianl match of the season, I was happy to get out of there.
My wife brought the kids down for a bit in the ressies as she was at my parents around the corner and the wind knocked the pram over with bags and all weighing it down.
I bet all the players were happy to get off of the field
We even had some boundry throw ins recalled becasue they went back to the umpire.
