I would have thought that Sanderson being so highly rated would have had a big chance.
AFL is surely a rollercoaster ride of emotion.

Who did the Cats cut from their lists at seasons end? Would Bomber have been the one to make those calls? Regardless, the draft will allow Chris to stamp his authority and recruit who he thinks is needed for the job. Makes for an interesting new era at Kardinia Park.

Re: Chris Scott to coach Geelong
A surprising decision from the outside looking in, yet time will soon tell if it was the right decision or not, Freo have played some pretty good footy this season and anyone that can get a result out of a club that has really struggled has to be worth a second look. No doubt the Assistant Coaches at the top sides are the ones rated, yet perhaps those that show improvement are better candidates for the top jop - remains to be seen anyway!
What I found interesting was the President of the Cats on the 5AA newshour where the press conference was replayed calling on Sanderson to return to the club. One would think that the incoming coach should have the choice of who his assistants will be, seeing as he will cop it should the club perform poorly?
