Club Songs

Post by Strawb on Thu 28 Oct 2010, 8:52 pm

In what year did Certain clubs start using their current Club songs.
I know Centrals is now we're a winning team at Centrals but how many different ones did they have before that?
What was Woodville's club song also. I have most of them on a CD somewhere in my house. But I don't have Woodville's.

ALWAYS HAS BEEN 'WINNING TEAM AT CENTRALS', NEVER 'HAPPY TEAM...'

WE'VE HAD A FEW, BUT CAN ONLY REMEMBER 'BEWARE THE DOGS ARE COMMING' AND 'THIS TIME'

Cool thanks for that Matt I prefer this time more than we're a winning team. I prefer clubs having their own clubs song different from the other clubs in the comp.

I used to like Sturts when Merv Keane was there , the Carlton version.

We are the Double Blues.......

I wish I could get a copy of that somehow.

Actually I would like to know the history on how we managed to have the same song as the Legs.

Must have been some aggravation between the clubs somewhere along the line when this happened.

I find it funny that you reverse the 'me and you' so that it doesn't rhyme...

Yes that is the line of the song. Such a pity they changed it because it suited them well.

May I suggest "Werewolves of London" or could change to Richmond.

Hmm......maybe not!

Re: Club Songs

Post by howthewestwaswon on Tue 30 Nov 2010, 10:20 pm

here were the suggestions I made mr o:

Sons of the West
Red and black so true
We come out howling
Westies through and through
Bloodhounds bite and bloodhounds roar
We give our very best
Cause you can't beat the boys of the bloodhound breed
The team of the mighty West!

-OR-

We are the pride of Richmond town
We wear the good old red and black
In every game that we contest
We'll give a red hot crack
All for one and one for all
We will answer to the call
Go Bloodhounds, Mighty Westies
We'll kick the winning score
And win this mighty war.
