Gee Geelong and Coburg have really hit a brick wall after recently playing in a Grand Final.

Yes and No it is who you recruit and what good youngsters are floating around. You can make more coin and train less playing at a GFL, BFL or GDFL club than playing VFL football as a Geelong player. Some kids are more interested in hangin with their mates than trying to push for a AFL career and some just don't want to be paid not alot to play VFL football. The Geelong Football League is an excellent league to go and watch.
