Swandog, were Swan Districts ever the Magpies or always been the Swans?
Second question.
Is the second part of your name, any reference to who you support here?

Gday mate, we have always been Swans and the Black and whites, this is our 76th year, the club spawned out of the now defunct Midland Junction. My 2nd part of my name is an adaptation of one of my nicknames, and no reference to Centrals. Im following South Adelaide mainly because its seems to be a working class club (not sure though) and hope they can upset Norwood today, im just driving off down south now to watch the state game v Queensland in Mandurah the home of Peel Thunder, we should win but will be closer than previous years, then next year bring on the SANFL!. Goodluck to Sturt today!
Can you give me a run down on which clubs are working class areas and which are toffy nosed?

Re: Footy Goss a WAFL forum
Well some may beg to differ with this opinion.
But the working class areas would be;
Port
West
Centrals
In the middle;
North
Eagles
South - although their demographic includes new development areas as well as older suburbs too.
And the so-called toffy areas;
Norwood
Sturt
Glenelg probably
Some are a bit line ball these days with the changing face of some suburbs.
A lot of people live in areas they don't support.
Like me - I live in deep in Port's zone.
Probably not like it used to be in this respect.

Thanks for that, Swans are a working class area east of Perth and i live South east in another working class area. Subiaco and Claremont are the toffies, South Freo and East Freo and West Perth (although based in Joondalup) working class and East Perth are just ferral, known as the Royals we call them the ferrals Peel also a bit ferral and Perth are middle class but havnt had success for 34 years. But like you say the burbs are changing a lot now...Tday WA got up by 6pts v Qld after they came back big time in the last Q, good game though 16.17 16.11. We lead by as much as 7 goals at one stage but took the foot off in junk time and it gave us a fright
