Mitsubishii 380?
Mitsubishii 380?
Just wondering if anyone has ever owned the Mitsubishi 380 or knows someone that has and what they are like?
There is a small car yard just down from Jarvis Ford on the Corner of Grand Junction rd and Main North road, I think its called Adelaide Vehicle Centre or similar, anyway they seem to like selling the odd Mitsubishi 380 from time to time, always parked on an angle on the front corner of the lot, and in an interesting coincidence with $10 990.00 on the windscreen. Assuming the ks travelled are reasonable that seems an interesting proposition?
I would be pretty reluctant to change away from Toyota though, still its not a bad idea to at least consider some of the options first!
Thoughts?

Re: Mitsubishii 380?
I drove a 380 when a friend popped over, it was a hire car (fairly new) and he let me take it for a spin and i was quite impressed with it, plenty of power, comfortable to drive and although it was front wheel drive i thought at the time, i'd like one of these. My guess is they will be very cheap to buy as they are no longer produced but Mitsubishi did put some work into these cars to try to make them a top seller. They look ok, and provided the ks on the clock are fairly low, i'd go for it. But check out some other 380's first and compare prices.

Sounds like a plan Bundy!
The issue is trying to figure out what I want as opposed to what is the actual best choice overall! - Two very different things!

That was my thought also that they do look pretty good, the 6 cyl plant is supposed to be a pretty good runner as well, 10.8ks per 100ks is a little high, but still better than the Holden or Ford 6.
It was a shame how Mitsubishi ended up, it seemed like certain news channels had it in for them and constantly over several years gave enough negative news stories out until they got what they wanted and the plant closed!

You'd be hoping that enough spare parts are on the market though BenW, in case something goes wrong...

Mitsubishi did everything to make that car a winner and when it came out we considered buying one as we were on the lookout for another car but the shite hit the fan not long after it was released and we decided to not buy one.
We bought a Mitsubishi Verada instead and could'nt be happier, front wheel drive FB, and don't have a problem with it.

Re: Mitsubishii 380?
10.8 ain't bad for a 6 cyl!
The Fords / Commodores are in the 12s.
This was the make or break car as it was reported.
Bummer that they broke, before it had chance to get a toe-hold.
Arguably had features far and away above commodore / falcon, but probably Japanese / SA politics got in the way first.
As long as you can still get parts and full servicing, then I reckon you'd get a bargain on this.
