I don't know how the rest of the nation views Cadel Evans' triumph at the Tour de France, but I would put that up there with Australia II's win at the America's Cup and many other national triumphs.

So please Prime Minister, be a proud Australian and give us a Public Holiday. Otherwise, Bob can have his old job back!!!

His effort to win the tour was world class allright, becomming the oldest winner ever .

Probably should give us one for the men's relay gold medal at the swimming the other night too. Hell, give us one for each of the 4 swimmers.

I reckon we should have Stephanie Rice day.
Doesn't matter if she wins a medal or not.
Just so we can look at her in a swim suit will be fine enough.
