Melbourne FC

So sacking Neale Daniher really worked well for the Dees? - Daniher went to West Coast as their General Manager and where are West Coast on the ladder now?

I don't think Neale would have survived the coaching system now anyway.

Although I find it interesting that once Port won their flag in 2004, that many of their coaches were poached by other clubs. I think the allure of Port stopping Brisbane winning 4 in a row may have infiltrated many board exec's minds too quickly.

Look at them now:
*Bailey - hasn't done a great deal with the Dees but has bought a lot of new young blood in, but how much more patience do the Melb fans have?
*Williams - now an assistant at GWS...say no more.
*Clarkson - probably the best of the lot, winning a flag and bringing Hawthorn back to a formidable unit. Don't know why they Hawks would want to get rid of him just yet.

Should Melbourne have picked up Kevin Sheedy when they had the chance. His record in the last few years of his Essendon career would say no, but sometimes a change of scenery can re-invigorate a person. Who knows?

Bailey has been sacked. Todd Viney to possibly take over the rest of the year.

Not a good way to bow out as a coach by getting thumped at Geelong. The players should take a good hard look at themselves, same as the Cows players after there wonderful, fantastic win against, wait for it --THE BOTTOM SIDE.

Sad to hear that the great Melbourne player Jim Stynes is undergoing more treatment for his cancer after being given some promising news only a couple of months ago. I wish him all the best in this next battle and hope all goes well.

Here here. Wishing Jim all the best. I know how hard it is having been there and done that. It's a very scary time waiting for the next bit of news and going through treatment. Wouldn't wish it upon anyone.

Rumour around the traps is that Neil Craig may be a candidate for the Senior Coaching position at Melbourne?

Brisbane would have to making a decision on Vossy, wouldn't they?? Or did they give him a big contract?

I'm pretty sure Voss is safe for the next season, with maybe Craig being an assistant to him or at Richmond as reported on radio, who really knows for sure. scratch

30-odd games for Geelong I think in the early part of the 1990s. scratch

Is an Assistant Coach at Collingwood, any side that dominates in the AFL is always likely to have their staff picked off for rival sides.

Yet I am not sure that I agree, yes they have had experience at a top side, but there capacity to make decisons that they are accountable for is very diminished compared to someone like Bassett at Norwood for example. Time will very soon tell no doubt if it was the right decison or not!

Interesting Hire by Melbourne but it seems like Rats leaving the sinking ship at Collingwood. No one it seems wants to be with Bucks

Maybe so, but being appointed as a senior coach is a huge job and beats being an assistant anyday.
