Re: Do You Remember.........Dave Granger
I suppose the legend will continue for ever-more on whether he did or whether he didn't.
The whole Granger folklore almost has a life of its own these days.

Yes but we need to look after the kids these days and seeing the old footage kinda sends a tingle up my spine.

i know what people think and say about Granger but you know what even though this is politically incorrect but most of the Port fans loved him and most footy fans would have liked him in their side even though very few would admit it..........

BK, I've allways said the difference between liking a player or not comes down to what colors he wears and if he had worn red & black he would have been a champion.

Chambo Off To Work We Go wrote:I wonder what the relationship is between Cahill and Cornes?
I have never actually seen them engaged in debate or conversation over the years.
This despite both being the highest profile SA coaches going around in the 90s.
Cornes may have forgiven Granger, but I just wonder if you engaged him in quiet debate away from cameras and microphones what he would say about Cahill.
Digressing this a bit slightly, did Granger ever directly come up against that other 'enforcer', John Wynne?
Speaking of enforcers, in order of "enforcement" priority how would you rate these;
- Granger
- Wynne
- Wayne Phillis
- Neil Balme
Having seen all 4 in action I would categorize them this way..
Phillis and Wynne were very "hard at it" players, who didnt mind a bit of rough stuff.
Balme was at his peak the best player of the group but was never averse to king hitting a player while his attention was elsewhere.
Grainger was a thug and a coward.
