K Mart Tyre and Auto Service

Needed to get a set of tyres for the Camry the other week and did as my Grandad used to press home to me and rang several places to get quotes over the phone first, massive amount of difference over something that you think should be a fairly similar price for similar quality tyres. Anyway what I wanted to say was that K Mart were the best quote that I got and who I went with at Ingle Farm, interesting co incidence was that a mate of mine had some mechanical repairs done to their Corolla and also went through K Mart because their quote for the work was the most competitive.

Thought I would mention it as if you need work on your car, a, always get a minimum of three quotes and b, maybe give Kmart a go at quoting! True the market is pretty tight at the moment but if people are cautious you can work around it still pretty well!

they werent the best quote for me i have a 93 vr holden berlina and i have 17" vx ss rims kmart quoted me $200.00 a tyre so i went to goodyear auto on richmond road $125 a tyre.....who do you think got my business

Be thankful you don't have to fork out $380 a tyre like I do on my 4wd.
But then they do last 60K - 80K.

Not sure i should say this .But I tried their cheap service opted for a dearer one .Called me with all these minor problems.got them all fixed and was hit with .OH but you need this done and that done .I did let them flush the radiator I knew it needed to be flushed but they insisted it needed to be changed .
They weren't cheap believe me .And they told me how long a service would take way over the time factor .
Only reason I tried them as I had no idea about mechanics down this way .
Not certain I'd go back for next service lets just say it started in the hundreds and finished over the $1000's!!
And I went in to get a bulb changed needed a service thought why not lmao!!
So just beware some chain mechanics .I went to another place down port adelaide way the service before .They have the name of a golden king .they told me the battery needed to be changed .As it was one that there battery tester couldn't test still going . fingers crossed on that.
Oh and the mechanic who had serviced this falcon for my dad before me .Calmly told me he'd changed the timing belt(i think it was) next service .Was told by a ford driving friend they have chains(or the other way around)not belts .so you can't always trust your mechanic!!

TyrePower at Cheltenham always looked after us with our tyres when we were living down that way. Always went with Toyo brand and they did them at a reasonable price, cheaper than a lot of other places.

Our mechanic at Port Adelaide was top notch too. Couldn't fault him at all on service, reliability or price. Very happy customer!!

Cannot fault K-Mart Tyre and Auto. Recently had got a nail in one of my tyres. I went to them in Belmont and they plugged both holes for $30 I even game them a tip for a drink after work.

I and other friends have had the same problem as you Mickyj as well. I will never go to them again, they allways find something else wrong that needs fixing and so the original quote becomes much larger than originally given.

The last time I had the car there for a simple service and they rang me to say that I need new tyres as the tread was wearing out on the ones on the car. I allways check the tread on my tyres and so I new this was not the case and told them to just do the service.

Those tyres were replaced 2 years later, and in between that time we travelled to Melbourne twice.

Gotta admit after Profix got me many years ago .I don't tend to be taken very often these days !!
Kmart with the radiator and something else that escapes me right now( was something that was leaking they reckon nothing on my driveway).I did get all the small things fixed that they found.They were however supposed to be getting me a brake pedal pad .never called me back about that lol.
Midas with the battery .Yes still going a couple years latter . And I kept getting mail we want your business back.

So my Kmart experience was all down to a cop pulling me over for a faulty brake light .And he wrote me a ticket and said I wont charge you lmao but Kmart did
