Rd 22 WAFL
Today at Bassendean the Mighty Swannies (9th) 17.9.111 pulled South Freos (3rd) 12.11.83 pants down to win by 28 points! And how sweet is was to be there as we blooded heaps of youngsters who all chipped in with goals and we also exposed Sths lack of pace which will hurt them in Sept if they make it.
East Perth (7th) 18.9.117 upset West Perth (2nd) 12.18.90 by 27, and Perth (6th) 15.7.97 hung on v Peel (8th)12.13.85 by 12pts.
Tommorow Flag favs Claremont (1st) travel down the road to East Fremantle oval to take on the Sharks (EF) (5th) in what could be a Grand Final preview going by recent results..my tip EF by 11pts....but back to the major news and that is the mighty black and whites (Swans) are now off the bottom and looking good for the future with the youngsters on display today!!! Roll on 2012! Carn the Ducks!
$ubiaco (4th) had the bye

A deliberate dollar sign there, Swandog?
Looks like the East-West game was a ripper, and is the Falcons could have kicked straighter, we might not have come away with it.

Yep its a deliberate $ sign in reference to under the table payments to $ubi players outside the salary cap during their premiership run a couple of years back.
The WP v EP game was a ripper and it was also heated on and off the field with contenscious umpiring and also fans taking swipes at the umps as they came off.
Today East Freo (5th) beat Clare (1st) by 45 points to jump to 3rd 16.14.110 to 9.11.65.
This makes it anyones flag for the taking..interesting times in the WAFL

Re: Rd 22 WAFL
I got 0/4
Like the SANFL, the WAFL is very even too. Split in 3 parts though. 2 teams at the top, 3 in the middle and the bottom 4. Having said that, the top 2 got done. Claremont on top with 5 losses.

Yeh i think Claremont are going to almost regret their Foxtel Cup involvment as this has denied them a bye all year and their 2nd semi combatents wil be West Perth who have a bye last rd before the semi.
But WP have now lost 4 in a row and face a rampaging Swan Districts this week in their last game and wil need to pull their finger out.
Its funny but at the moment the 3rd and 5th teams being East Freo and Subi look the form teams with Subi likely to make it and Sth Freo to miss out
