Do you Remember ... Laurie Argent
You either Loved him or hated him. I think Richard Williams learnt to umpire from him. But Laurie had an influence all of his own. Just ask a Glenelg supporter. 1983 when he reported both McIntosh and Kernahan were reported. We all know it costed Sticks the 1983 Magarey Medal. What are your thoughts on Laurie and his umpiring skills.

Not really.
Whilst I remember the era well enough, the memory banks are struggling a bit re his umpiring cred.
I do recall Sticks missing out because of the report.
Probably very bad luck for one of the games premier players.

Re: Do you Remember ... Laurie Argent
I remember him as quite a good umpire of the day, in fact he was one of the better umpires from that era. I think he umpired close to 300 games at league level and also umpired a number of grand finals plus state games.
