James Rimington - retiring - back to melbourne

NORWOOD captain James Gallagher has retired.

The 31-year-old midfielder informed Redlegs coach Nathan Bassett of his decision yesterday morning (Friday, October 14).

He had been considering his future since Norwood's preliminary final loss to the Eagles last fortnight.

Gallagher played 218 games for the Redlegs and 38 games for the Crows.

South have certainly lost a number of quality players from their finals side
Cochshell, Horne, Gotch, Sandrey, lyons they will he hard to replace especially Horne, Gotch & Cockshell.

Once again they will need to recruit heavily from interstate

That hasn't got them very far and has often been an expensive outlay. Perhaps it's time for them to start looking in their own backyard... scratch

South has recruited heavily from interstate over the past 2 years with players such
as Gotch,Horne,O'keefe,Liddle, Carey,Cross, & Ainger all coming from interstate plus they recruited Wundke & Stribling
from North & they finished 4th hence they did have a good season & therefore I think they will continue
to get players from interstate

Would they all be from Victoria? Maybe South could replace the SA on the front of the jumper to a Big V. After all, they've got the right colours... Shocked
