2012 SANFL Fixture

One story doing the rounds is that South Adelaide are going to get a game to be played under lights on good friday. What do people think of this idea.

As a West Adelaide supporter, if it happens to be us I won't be there, I live at golden grove and i'll be F@#cked if i'm driving home from there at night.

No Good Friday footy FULL STOP!

Great move and should have hapenned years ago. I will probably go as a neutral if Sturt don't play against them and I never go to neutral games.

Many others do, hence the reason to have a holiday.
There are many other things than footy that are traditionally to be abstained to respect the day.
I am a bit ambivalent one way or the other, but respect those who maintain an abstainence. Footy included.

Put it this way it doesn't kill me that there is no footy.

Without wishing to answer for Sarge, I suspect some of this lies at the core of his reasons.

West Adelaide looking at playing on the Thursday night prior to Easter. They did it last year and got a very good crowd.

thats not a bad idea if it happens, dont like the whole good friday idea

I remember when footy was first played on a sunday...boy did that kick up a storm from many with religious beliefs, now it is not a problem and is accepted by all sport followers.

How about the atheists and agnostics keep working on Christmas Day, Good Friday and the Easter season??

Oh no, couldn't have that, cause that would be SOOOOOO unfair...

After all, you don't believe in it, therefore don't attend a service, so why should you get a day off?

I'm a Catholic too Sarge, as you know...but it wouldn't bother me if West wanted to play on Good Friday and i'd also make my way up to the BBQ for a steak sanga as well. What about bedroom sports on Good Friday Sarge, is that a no no too?

If that is someone's relgion , then don't attend and it will be respected. Why should non religious people have to follow a minority.
Public hols are declared by Goverments so it is impossible for someone to work if industry is shut down. That being the case I assume we all went to the Adelaide Cup ?
