Celebrations down at Beach Road, South playing finals for the first time in many years. Can't remember if they have this millenium?

West took care of North again. 4 - 0 this year.
South smashed the Bays. Weeroona Bay grand finalist to wooden spoon.
Roopena beat Central by 3 points.

Central 3 points from playing finals.

Next week

2nd semi - West vs North
1st semi - Roopena vs South

Massive upset last night with North beating West by 18 points. West beat North 4-0 during the minor round. West only lost 1 game during the minor round and that was to Roopena in the 2nd last round. Would be a shame if West were to lose in straight sets. Rolling Eyes

South thumped Roopena today. Shocked

South vs West next week looks a bit of a mismatch.

Horrible weather today and not one score was kicked against the breeze.

qtr time: South led 5.6 to 0.0
Half time: South up 5.6 to 3.6
3/4 time: South up 11.9 to 3.6
South 11.9.75 def Roopena 4.9.33

I'm available. Shocked

Whyalla News Medal was held tonight with Ben Butler from West Whyalla Football Club taking home the Whyyie.

3 years in a row the medalist has come from the Dragons after Simon Nowak last year and Leigh Symons in 2009.

Bradley Page from South Whyalla, a former Whyalla News Medal winner himself took out the Reserves award. Joey Webster from Central Whyalla won the Under 17s and Jamie Waugh from West Whyalla the Under 14s.

As expected West gave South a mother of all hidings in the Preliminary Final.

125 to 28.

North vs West in the Grand Final next week. Same 2 sides will play in the ressies GF. Central vs Roopena in the under 17s and Central vs West in the under 14s.

West to win the league as much as I can't stand the bastards. North are the Magpies so it's a lose-lose situation really. Rolling Eyes

West are becoming the new Central, Central lost so many grand finals in the 80s and 90s, it's now happening to West.

I know they're a bit long in the tooth now but maybe West should have played Scott Maitland and/or Anthony Manfield. Both had great seasons in the Bs, kinda wonder why they were there all year?

Well, a few coaching changes have been made for 2012.

In a Whyalla first - Roopena have appointed joint coaches after Pete Usher retired due to work commitments.

Centrals have plucked an outsider with former BMW coach Cam Redden taking over the reigns.

Many clubs starting pre-season this week.
