Forum rules of etiquette

Netiquette

As the Internet includes a global community, posters need to be aware of behavioral standards and can avoid embarrassing situations by adhering to some simple guidelines for electronic communication. Proper Internet etiquette is often referred to as Netiquette.

The following is a list of this group’s standard for Netiquette:

Disagreements on our board are bound to occur as everyone may have a different opinion and/or experience or information to support that opinion. However mutual respect keeps this from getting out of hand and turning into personal attacks.

What works for one person will not always work for another. Personal attacks or accusations will not be tolerated on our chat forum. If you disagree with a person's stated opinion, a reply that "I disagree with you on this point because my opinion is..." will be sufficient. Again, back-and-forth posts do little except keep the negativity going on the board.

Avoid "flaming" (inflammatory or antagonistic criticism) or sending insulting, abusive, or threatening remarks. Malicious or spiteful discussions are not welcome.

Whilst discussion on players and SANFL issues are appropriate in this board, moderation not “Flaming” is the required approach.

Avoid using all capital letters in a message. This is perceived as SHOUTING and may cause hard feelings. You may wish to use "emoticons" to help get your point across:

Do not assume that your intentions will be understood; remember there is no body language, facial expression, or tone to indicate your intentions.

No personal details of other people/organizations should be disclosed without their consent – this includes allegations of behavior which is not out in the public forum.

No obscene, sexually explicit or offensive language is to be used.

No obscene, sexually explicit or offensive pictures or links to internet sites where images of this nature are available are to be used.

Offensive posts will be removed from the chat group. The offender may lose his/her posting privileges.

Commercial posts from distributors, manufacturers, and sales people other than are not permitted without site administrators endorsement. We endorse support for those suppliers who support SANFL football.

These "rules of etiquette" are so that all of us can continue enjoying this chat forum.
